How does the Vintage RI series (not hot rod) relic?
I would like to see some pics of NATURAL relic'ed American Vintage RI instruments. I have a 57 RI strat (Blackie) and I'm worried if, when reliced, it will have hard "crusts" on it like a poly finished strat? I hate those crusts, really almost cut your fingers on them.
The resean for asking is that I know the VRIs have a poly-UNDERCOAT...

Re: How does the Vintage RI series (not hot rod) relic?
It's going to take years for it to relic. And not 3 or 4 years, but maybe a decade or more. Why would you worry about it? If you base a guitar purchase upon how it's going to look when it has aged, well then, you should probably reconsider what's really important in a guitar.
