USA speciel limitied edition 1994 strat!

Hey everyone!

A guy in my local area is selling an USA speciel limitied edition 1994 strat with texas special PU's! its made in 94' as a 40th anniversary model of a 54' strat (as far as i remember). Tried it and it played awesomely!
The guy wants 1900 bucks for it. It is in MINT condition, hardly even played.
Is that a reasonable price? And will this guitar rise in value?

Check under the pickguard and look at the cavity and electronics. I bought a guitar once thinking it was a USA but it looked like it was a cheap Squier.

It is what he says. he is an old man with a disease that has made him unable to play for the past 9 years. Why would he lie?
The headstock says MAde in USA .
and on the back of the guitar, on the bolt on plate that is sitting on back of the body bolting the neck onto it, it says "Special limitied edition".
Its the real thing!
and he even has it in original fender case!

Hi Jonathan, is it the one with "40 years and still rocking" on the neck plate and a flag on the headstock?

If so, I have seen those sell for around half that price. like this one....

What exactly is it a 2 tone burst ASh body what are the inlays made from . Flame maple neck? Seem to me they did have a fancy 40th I can't remember exactly. I do think they cost quite a bit and may go up in value. But if its just a reg. run of the mill one I would say its worth what a reg old used 94 goes for.

You can get a AVRI new for 1900.

Yeah I wouldn't pay more than 800 for it, for that price you can get an AVRI as suggested or a NOS Custom Classic for Proguitarshop.com

Ya I kind or changed my thoughts cause something tells me it is special.. Can't remember . I thought they had a fancy 54 with 2 cases a poddle and reg. But its been a while . I know one ann. had a flame maple neck fancy pearl inlays and came with 2 cases. And went for about 2400 bucks at the time. Could be thinking of a different one though.

Hey OD I think you are right. There are the 40th anni models that all the guitars in that year were badged as, and there is a limited run model. Found a thread on Strat-Talk here:

Seems like 1900 wouldn't be too out of line
