So I really want an American Standard strat. I played one a while back and I really liked it, really impressed. Now I have decided to save up for one so I can buy it sometime next year. So the only thing im having problems with is a good color choice. I played a white one and I liked it, but I also like black, and I found a new color that I really like Charcol Frost Metallic. I like that one because it really looks like the color on Eric Claptons strat (supposedly they dont make it for anyone else) and the Charcol frost looks really close, and I like that too, so I just need to make up my mind, but being in America im taking it to a vote. Pics of each color should be below.
P.S. I love the maple necks, so theres no turning back on that

Re: Help, color choice
Yeah I like the white too, the only I played looked nice. The thing that really dragged me in was how the fretboard was buffed and shiny, for me it made it easier to play. I found that Charcol color last night and im really liking it

Re: Help, color choice
Ha, colour it is. Yes that Charcol Frost (glorified grey) is really nice. It really caught my eye.

I do like white or the charol. I say if your going to shop in person the old, buy the one that speaks to you thing needs to apply. Colours IMO can grow old in a players eye, and when they do ,they start looking else where. Not every player but I do . After about a year I grow tired of a colour.

cant go wrong with a white strat. down the line you can change the pg color to anything you like and have it still look great...

Re: Help, color choice
Black is boring and common. Real white color is pretty, but that crap that Fender calls white is just plain ugly. That grey is not so common, but it's also not all that pretty. If I had to pick from those three, I would go with the grey one.
When you go and play some, don't buy it based on its color. Buy it based on it's playability. I own a black MIM and black was the last color I wanted. However, the neck on it played better than all of the other MIM guitars in the store so I bought it.

Re: Help, color choice
Oh, and if you do get the white one, put a tortoise shell guard on it. It's the only way, in my opinion, that that white color will look any bit decent.

Re: Help, color choice
Oh, of course. The one I played that I really liked was white. Color isnt the decideing factor, just thinking about it really.

Re: Help, color choice
It's hard to beat that all white Strat. I prefer the 3 color sunburst (black on the outside) but white is my second choice.

Re: Help, color choice
Personally, I would pick the one that plays the best. If it plays well enough, you won't really care what the color is.

Re: Help, color choice
I have a Vintage white strat. Its got that yellow tint to it you know and I really love it. For the next Strat I get, I would love to get Daphne Blue. I really love that but since Im a lefy Im stuck with very few color options.
I dont know what it is but I just love this blue and I normally dont care much about what color the guitars is.
