I am gonna buy 2 of them 1 left and 1 right and switch the necks then give the lefty with the reverse stock away. To me that will be cheaper then ordering them from malaysia.

I like the looks of the white one.

They'd be stupid not to market that axe
in North America, w/ or w/o the signature.

If it's as good as the other CVs seem to be,
i'd most definitely consider snapping one up.

I've been thinking about feeling up the CV 60's Strats anyway, just
because i wouldn't mind having a decent Stratocaster on the cheap,
but i've always loved those white, maple-necked Strats in particular.

Unfortunately, whenever i've tried them out, they
felt like junk...& those were Fenders, not Squiers.

If the Squier Sham felt & sounded good though, i
don't think i'd hesitate to get one @ $349 or less.

As much as i do love the Fender logo, i'm long past
the point of worrying about being seen w/ a Squier.

(Plus, i've already got a great, 88/89 Fender Tele)

I wonder how much of a hassle/expense
it is to get one through a Squier dealer.

I'm seeing a guy tomorrow about a
couple of '83 MIJ Squier SQ Strats.

They're not reversed, but they've got
the big ol' 70's headstocks on 'em too.

He's got a '97 Fender 1962 Reissue in Shell Pink,
which i actually like, on the chopping block as well.

All 3 of them are VERY reasonably priced...which i also like.

I've always heard a lot of good reviews about the
JVs & SQs so i'm pretty curious about these two.

If i end up w/ one or more of this guy's axes, i'd probably
forget about the Kamikaze pretty quickly & feel fine w/o it.

I had an 83 SQ it was a really nice guitar, but The classic Vibes I had were just as nice guitars if not better. The SQ had better electronics and better stock hardware

Yup I have his Signature Strat, But I'm also into Hendrix too. I was listening to Hendrix a long time before I found Mayer. At first I didn't like him b/c I thought he was the "Wonderland guy"

Its a classic vibe, not just the run of the mill Squiers. I doubt shipping would be more than 100-200 bucks. These are really nice guitars, and I would much rather buy one of these than a mexi anyday of the week. Its something about these guitars that's hard to describe, but when you pick one up they feel and sound like an expensive guitar. Plus I think it would be neat to own one for collector value. Believe it or not rare Squiers are fetching pretty decent bucks these days. If you don't believe me go type in Squier JV or look at prices of some of the American Squiers

On another note, I talked to my local dealer and he talked to the head of Squier Marketing and it looks like they aren't letting these leak out of Malaysia. . He said he's gonna see if he can pull some strings and get one sent in, so I'm waiting to hear back.

Yougi is dead on, these babies look , sound and feel like the real deal out of the box, the only things holding them back are cheaply and easily changed, after owing the two starts I have, if someone offered me a straight trade , 1 CV for one standard MIM I'd turn em down flat, straight trade for classic players MIM, I wouldnt just jump in, and thats a guitar that sells for almost 3 times as much.

offering a package deal of $950 for all 3
& would've taken $600 for the two SQs.

I was hoping i might snap them all up, flip one or both of
the SQs for more & maybe keep the pink Fender if i liked it.
So i was kind of bummed when he told me the Reissue had
been sold already but i went over to see the SQs anyway.

They were disappointing.

One was black/maple & the other white/rosewood.
They were both a bit road worn & looked super cool.

The black one felt like shit though & the white one, which
i reeeeeeally liked the look of, just didn't quite do it for me.

Close, but no cigar...it just
wasn't as slinky as i'd hoped.

So i passed.

I love my Telecaster but i'm beginning to
think that maybe i'm just not a Strat guy.

I really wanna love 'em, but they just never feel good to me.

There's actually only one Strat i've ever played & liked but that was a
REAL '62, which might have had something to do w/ why it felt so sweet.

Oh well...maybe someday.

I like his tone, his smoke on the water solo and his clinic sounded pretty much the same though, which was kinda weird, sorta reminds me of a cross between Steve Morse and Larry Carlton, not bad company to keep at all.

Yeah I know he is, but at first thats all I knew him for and I really didn't like his music, but then my friend gave me a bunch of bootlegs with him playing SRV stuff, and then I heard his trio and I was hooked

Just brought home a 2-Tone 50's CV Strat after playing tons
of vintage, new & used Fender Strats over the last few days.

All of those guitars paled in comparison to the feel
& sound of this 50's CV, no matter what logo was on
the headstock or how steep or lowly the price tag.

I've played Les Pauls & Telecasters both professionally
& for pleasure for 20 years & i know a good guitar when
i play one...& i cannot recommend these things enough.

Mine feels & sounds great &
was already setup quite nicely.

I couldn't be happier w/ this axe & i'm already
thinking about another, though i'd like to play a
60's/Rosewood before i order an Olympic White
50's & change the gold pickguard to parchment.

I still can't believe i bought a
Squier...& at Best Buy, no less!

But, for me, it was the best feeling
& sounding guitar of the 4 day bunch.

By far.

These are wonderful guitars.

Even moreso for $344.13 out the door.

Believe the hype.
