Do you know about my thinline build? Build; should call it a piece together. Warmouth birdeye/brazilian roeswood pro, with Clapton V, strat neck . I got (mint) for 60$. Going on a body, thinline curly maple top , ash body a guy in GA is building.

I own 2 and can honestly say I've never seen nor played a new mexi that sounded better, looked better, felt better, and had better detailing, and I've been in this game 25 odd years, the classic vibes are awesome guitars hands down, if you want to pay considerably more and do more extensive upgrading and finish work to have "fender" on the HS, thats totally up to you, but if your going to discredit my statements, your gonna have to back it up buddy.

If your buying new I'd checkout the squire classic vibe line, IMO they kill the mexi's in everything except pots, switch and wire, plus if you want to go humbucker later, the bodies are routed for them in the bridge position. The stock pups on both models are great, and playability, fit and finish are top notch (barring my bad RW board on my first 60's, it still sounded and played great though) IMO I think they are much better guitars than the mexi's regardless of price, plus the needed upgrades are cheaper as well.

Not everyone who uses humbuckers is using an LP or SG.. of course not many people stick with the stock pickupsand pick ones that works for them.

Yeah she sounds amazing. I don't like the middle pickup cause I hit it in my picking when I play heavier stuff. When I zone to blues I put the switch in the mid position or ride the neck plus I have a strat with all three so I wanted this to be its own beast. Thanks for the compliments guys sorry for the derail. What some of you may not know is Will and I wound the pickup and basically scabbed this thing together in about 45 minutes thats including potting time for the pup. It turned out to be my absolute favorite guitar of all time.

Ya know it's funny how some people have very particular views on what's right and what's not. Like for instance, a Strat that does not have all single coil pickups is no longer a Strat.
