replacement vintage tuners

greetings , Can someone explaine what my options are for drop-in replacement tuners for the strat neck I've got on order (should receive it in a couple of days and hope to marry it with a recently aquired MIM Strat FSR Natural Ash ) The neck (bought without tuners) is from a 60's classic player - 12" radius. Fender's spec sheet indicates Vintage type ping tuners where what was on this neck. I assume the holes are 11/32. Is that all the info I need to order drop-in replacements tuners from the various parts suppliers. Are there any other parameters? I see that there are press in bushings that fit a 11/32 holes, but is there a height (ie thickness of the headstock) parameter. Seems the offerings for the vintage-style tuners are Locking(old style) and non-locking. If I go with either of these, would it use the same holes on the back of the headstock? If I didn't care about the holes being exposed, and without drilling larger tuner holes, are there newer style locking tuners that fit the 11/32 hole?
Thanks
Byron

Re: replacement vintage tuners

I don't have the answers to all your questions, but if you want the tuners that came with that neck you need a set of Kluson vintage style tuners. Fender makes them too. You can get a new set for about 45 if you price around on eBay.

Re: replacement vintage tuners

I sell the klusons but your best option really quality wise are gotoh vintage or gotoh vintage locking. These are 15 to 1 where most others are 14 to 1.
