Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute
I'm sure you've seen SRV Guitar.com but there's downloadable templates, I believe, of the wear on the guitar.

Flick, i believe Warmoth will make you any kind of neck you want. i used to get their one offs and 2nds for my projects...you can save alot of money going with one of those. i bought a 2nd that was gibson scale 22 frets...yet fit a strat body with no modification. great neck. |

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
Guitar Player magazine wrote a bio on Stevie Ray a couple of years ago that had TONS of gear specific info. You might want to track down a copy.

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
I believe on the original neck Cesar also put gold tuners on it. He apparently had a bag of loose gold parts, and Steve really liked them.

Probably repair work that was done when the headstock was snapped off.

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
I played on one of the "Lenny" copy's at last years London guitar show, nothing to write home about, but then I'm not that much into Stevie. personally i think it looks as ugly as sin. his #1 is much more appealing in my view.

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
I have the SRV strat, very nice looking guitar, cool tone, but not all that "different" from your normal American strat if you know what I mean.
I say this, and I'm a HUGE SRV fan, but the guitar is not the best fender I've seen or the one with the greatest playability. So maybe creating an EXACT replica of No. 1 would be a good idea, maybe that's gonna be a very different instrument.

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
Well Fender is clueless using a poly finish ,Pau fero fingerboard & a Oval shaped neck. From the vid the neck looks huge fat to me. Fenders 25K tribute didnt look so swell either to me.

Re: SRV # 1 guitar pix tribute to replicate a relic
A String, that replica is great! I don't think there's a guitar out there cooler than Stevie's old Strat, and you did a hell of a job.
