Re: My New '65 Jaguar

No problemo.

I'm a big fan of the 'Phonics. What I posted was not some of their better stuff. He usually plays LPs and SG's. Great songwriter, IMO.

Enjoy the guitar!! Surprising versatility after watching surfdude with the F'ed up hair.

Re: My New '65 Jaguar

It sure does have lots of tone in all of those dials and switches.

No LP tone though, thats for sure!

I really do like it so far. Not as a Les Paul replacement - I could see using it for a song or two, but I NEED that Les Paul tone most of the time.

The Jag is a lot of fun to play. I think that my next purchase will be another Jag or a Jazzmaster - something cheaper and non vintage that I can beat around with.

I couldn't figure it out and I had the damn thing in my lap! I thought that the top switch was up for neck and down for bridge pups - I had no idea that it just switched between two completely independent sets of controls. Pretty interesting now that I know what I'm doing somewhat!

One thing is for certain - compared to my Les Pauls, this guitar seems like its a tank. I don't see a spill cracking the headstock off of this thing or anything like that!

If anyone reads this and has a Jaguar - let me know what string gauge you're using. I'm debating lightening up some, but I've read that they were designed to use 12's or 13's - I'm thinking about 11's possibly - the flatwound 12's are a little stiff.
69 polyester in 69 no big deal polyester is good a lot or car colours where not nitro . Not polyester either. A good read for ya dice Antique Vintage Guitar Collecting Fender, Gibson, National, Epiphone, Dobro, Martin, Gretsch
