New Xaviere Strat!

Got this guitar the other day in the mail, and finally got around to taking a few pictures today. Sounds great, the stock pickups are actually really good (they're GFS pups). This is my first guitar with a maple board, so I guess I'm not used to the brightness, but with the tone knob cranked down a bit she sounds good. I prefer the sustain and tone of humbuckers, but this thing definitely has the Fender vibe down packed. Simply put, this thing is tremendous bang for the buck, with very accurate Fender tone. The neck is FAT! (which I love!)

My only complaint is that the supplied whammy bar, and any whammy bar, will not fit into the bridge. They must've effed up somewhere, which is annoying because I bought this thing partially because of the trem. I guess you have to expect some imperfections at this price point, considering the pickups they load it with. I'll figure something out. I definitely won't return it, because this particular guitar sings to me. Playing it acoustically, it vibrates enough for me to feel it throughout my whole body!

They're all finished in catalyzed urethane I think, which seems very durable and rock hard. Check out their clearance section and they have super cheap ones!

Re: New Xaviere Strat!

The whole guitars?

Nevermind, I see 'em.

Ya I just need a body, I'm already picking up a p90 and a p90 tele pg from them.

Still have my eye on that Player's strat from this guy I know.

Anyway, I love that vintage creme finish.

Re: New Xaviere Strat!

Congrats! How much are those running?

By the way, have you contacted Jay at GFS? I bet he'd give you a rebate if you can't get the trem to work. He seems a very fair sort.

With shipping to Canada it cost me a hair over $200. I never thought about contacting him, but I certainly will! Good idea!

Re: New Xaviere Strat!

I emailed jay, and he's a helpful guy; told me exactly what to adjust, and now the trem works perfectly! I love the guitar even more now!

Re: New Xaviere Strat!

I've been looking at those guitars for awhile now, thinking about picking one up one of these days. Good to know they're pretty decent! The LP style would make a good axe for modding (though the shape is somewhat cartoonish).

I have the LP style one too, and it's a very nice guitar, although I miss the Gibson style inlays. IMO the strat is a better deal, I can't put it down

If it not made by or authorized by Fender, it ain't a 'Strat'! It is a 'Strat' copy; however, I have bought items from GFS in the past, and have been impressed by the quality for the price.
Good luck with it, and keep us up to date on it in days to come.

Check out the neck pocket dimensions. I was looking at one too, but I don't think a USA or MIM neck will fit exactly.

It'll fit... tho I won't be needing it.

Re: New Xaviere Strat!

Sorry about that Dennis, I know it isn't a true Stratocaster, but it is a copy.

I've been playing this guitar all night, but when I fixed the trem, I screwed with the saddles, and although I did quickly re-intonate, I'm gonna have to go over it again in the morning, because I don't think I did a good job Still, I'm in love with the tone, the playability, and the fat neck!

My laptop with all my recording software is still in the shop, but when it comes back, I'll make a good demo for you guys to hear this thing sing!

Excellent! I haven't met him or done business with him, but Jay posts from time to time over at Harmony-Central, and I figured he'd come through for you.
