Re: Please help me!
I don't know what glue that would be, then, but don't use acetone. It can damage the pickguard, I think; iirc, it softens plastic.
I think lighter fluid (naphtha) should be safe. If you're worried about it, try it on the rear cover-plate first. It should work. |

Try "Ronsonol", "Zippo" (liquid, not a stainless steel lighter), or "Naphtha". So, you went and bought the damned Strat, eh? Sounds like you're roundly and soundly cursed.

As far as your mom, he's serious. Don't worry either way. Handle your business and get your Strat squared away. Start a thread with some pics, too. |

Re: Please help me!
STOP PLEASE
FOR FVCK SAKE IT'S really easy. No chemicals needed. Unscrew the pickguard and put it in the freezer. (only the pickguard, not the whole guitar or pickups or anything) Cool that sucker down. After its been cooled to a really low temperature, get it out. Get a woolen sock. I'm serious. It has to be wool. And wrub over that stain. You'll see that it comes off quite easy. Without leaving stains or scratches. Trust me. You can thank me later. PS it might seem like a hassle, but half a hour of work will last you long. |
