NGD...Am Std style
Just dropped off by the big brown truck. Snagged for $765 from MF thanks to the Fender rebate plus 15% off coupon. Oh, and did I mention the free Cry Baby that came with it? Very pleased so far, the wider string spacing and neck really set this apart from my old '03 MIM. So far I've only tuned it and noodled around a bit. Action is set crazy high, but other then needin to spend some time setting it up properly everything is great right out of the box. Unfortunately I won't have any more time to mess with it until tomorrow night since I'm leaving for a 24 shift at work in a bit.

Thanks, I'm glad somebody agrees. Got lectured by a co-worker for about 15 mins because I had the nerve to buy a Fender with RW. SACRILEGE! If I had any intention of keeping a white pickguard on it then I would have probably gone maple.

Only 17 hrs more to go!!

Yes sir buddy. You made a good choice Ape and a fine looking instrument indeed. I think that you'll be well please with this selection. Man I dig the sh*t out my Strat and have always liked that sharp bite that I get from the single coils but I've set her aside for a spell and trained my thoughts on my new found friend. Nothing wrong at all with having the best of both worlds. Congratulations my friend.

Thank you sir. I've definitely found myself to be much more of a single coil guy lately. I'll take a nasty P90 over a HB any day of the week. It's been quite a while since I've had a Strat though. Can't wait to see what kind of sounds I can coax out of this fine young lady.

That's a nice axe man! What color pickguard are you thinking of putting on it? I saw Earth play this summer and Dylan had a white strat w/ rosewood board and a dark red tortiseshell pickguard, looked killer!!

Gah! No wonder why the action was through the roof, she had .024" of relief!!! Only string I had to adjust the action after I fixed the relief to get it to 4/64ths was the E. I'll see just how low I can get it later. For now it's time to play, and then SLEEP.

Black pickguard. Not sure if I'll go tuxedo or swap out the knobs and pickup covers too.
