Hey,
Just wanted to know what you guys think of My Epi SG!

I basically re-did mostly everything.
Modifications are as follows;

* New Aluminum Hand made Pick Guard
* New Tuning Pegs(Vintage Style)
* New Pick Up Rings(Chrome)
* New Volume and Tone Knobs (Chrome)
* New Pick-Up Selector Switch Cap(Again, Chrome)
* New Truss-rod Cover (Hand made[made of wood] with a rose beautifully inlayed)

Please let me know what you think of it,

And also, I am looking to get Gibson Pick-Ups in it, what kind would you suggest?
I play alot of Blues rock and clasic rock with this guitar, and my favorite band is AC/DC, so I'd like a similar sound and tone.

Also, Post YOUR SG's!

Thanks!

I'm doing some changes to my guitar. I wanna change to Alnico Pro 2 pickups. and at the same time upgrade the electronics on the guitar.

just wanna confirm that buying the following is recommended (found this from some of the threads):

GuitarElectronics.com Gibson Super Kit w/ CTS Precision Tolerance Pots (http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/PK3S/Gibson_Super_Kit_w_CTS_Precision_Tolerance_Pots.html)

Just wanted to know if I can buy the same elsewhere that you guys might know of.

lastly, im not really technically guitar savvy, but wanted to know if the actual wires inside the guitar should be changed as well for a job like this, or are all the internal original wires fine. (prob a dumb question)

thanks

Hey there fellas, is there anyone out here with a 66RI Epi SG?

I would like to get the pickguard traced for our friendly local fabricator TWANG to reproduce.

All he needs is a solid tracing of it and then we will all have access to them and can get them in all kinds of colors and materials:thumb:

Come on fellas, pause for the cause :fingersx:

I mean you can buy a decent car for what some of these new guitars cost. Sorry for the rant, just irriated lately.

Help with Pick-up issues, PLEASE

Okay, I've had switch issues in the past. My bridge pick-up would cut out, and I would just play with the switch, and could always get it back.

Now, I have no Treble at all... and when I switch to Rythme, and I get about half of the normal output. This never happened before.

I opened the back, inspected the switches solder joints, checked the mechanical parts were all functioning properly, and cleaned the contacts. I thought it would be fixed for sure. This remedied nothing.

I then looked at all of the Tone/Volume pots. All solder joints good and solid.

It is hardly possible that both of my pick-ups could fail simultaneously.

So how do I diagnose this?? I'm almost certain it's the Pots. I have a multimeter, but don't know which leads, and resistances I need to be applying for the testing.

Someone, if you can can me, I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts, advice, ideas!
