Upgrading my MIM strat, suggestions?

I have a 92 MIM strat that I've had since brand new. I've already made lots of modifications to it already, including adding a Dimarzio Super Distortion Humbucker in the bridge and a Lace Sensor in the neck.

I'm thinking about cheap upgrades like maybe a better bridge or anything else you can suggest.

Also some suggestions for a nice sounding middle pickup?

here is a pic of it

NGD: '67 Fender Coronado II

Well, I picked up a new one for the stable today. This is a January 1967 Fender Coronado II. The color has been determined to be Burgundy Mist Metallic, and it has aged to a nice copper tone. The guitar is all original as far as I can tell. It has a somewhat rare "misprint" serial number in the 500k series rather than the 1-200k which it should be marked as. The tone of this guitar is something between a Gibson P90 and a Fender Single Coil - very cool and unique. Fairly lousy sustain, but a fun guitar to play. This thing is very vintage sounding and feels like an old Fender should. It most definitely is not a 335, but it is unique guitar with a distinct vibe. This was Fender's first attempt at a hollowbody electric. The Coronados never caught on, but they are an interesting piece of Fender history.

And, the checking gallery will begin here:

'66 Fender Coronado - What Color Is It?

The Fender Coronado was Fender's first attempt at a hollowbody electric (in an attempt to compete with Gibson) - back in 1966. They only lasted a couple of years. Many thumbed their noses at the damned thing, because a hollowbody "should have a set neck." WELL, I came across one locally - a single owner guitar with the OHSC. The color is very strange - copper-ish. Very, very clean. Fine checking throughout. Everything appears to be original, and the thing sounds very cool! It has a real P90 tone with a touch of Fender TWANG to it.

I've got a hold on it until tomorrow. The shop that I deal with locally came in to it yesterday. The original owner came in last month wanting to trade it for a low end Fender acoustic. The shop owner said that he couldn't make that trade - it wouldn't be fair. The old guy came back again and said that he has thought about it, and he just wanted to trade it on the acoustic. Said he doesn't play it, and there is no use having it lying around. SO, the shop gave him a guitar and insisted on adding some $$ in trade.

And, I come walking in shortly thereafter - the shop owner gives me a "boy, have I got something to show you!" That was yesterday. I stopped back in today after they'd got it cleaned up and set up - and I think that I'll be adding this one to the collection. It plays great, feels great (I'm a total sucker for 60's Fender necks) and sounds very unique.

If anyone owns or has owned one of these, weigh in! Also, what color is this?

Cell phone shot - better ones likely to come tomorrow...

MIA vs. MIM bridge question

Are the dimensions the same between a 2001 MIM bridge and an American Standard bridge?

I ask because I have parts to build a Strat, I'm just lacking a body. I have a MIM bridge and I'm thinking of buying a Warmoth body, but they don't offer a bridge route for a MIM bridge. If I order the body with the standard dimensions, will the MIM bridge fit properly?

Would the "Vintage 6-hole Trem" option on the Warmoth body work for the MIM bridge?

I'm looking into building a custom Strat for myself, with money being considered. Here's what I'm thinking about going with.

White Strat alder body w/ white guard
Rosewood "C" neck, 70's style, vintage chrome tuners
Custom Shop '69 pickups

I've found a loaded (assuming Standard) white body for $100 on eBay. Any consideration for paying extra for a MIA body and parts? This will be a player's Strat. Right now the total cost for setup and shipping is around $500.

Looking for advice/recommendations from the veterans out there.

Alright, I'm gonna be putting together a Strat just like this one.

Image: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/2/7/3/599273.jpg

Left handed of course. :D The body is going to be natural, and the board is going to be rosewood. White pickups and knobs.

What color pickguard should I put on it? I was leaning toward tortoise shell, but I am open to any ideas right now. Vote in the poll. If you select other, post what you think.

And I voted for Tortoise shell.

A local guy is selling a never-used Fender US Std Strat with maple neck from 2007 for 900 bucks. Im thinking of buying it and then put some nice custom PU's it.
On the other hand. A local guitar shop guy is offering me a Tokai strat form 85' with RW-neck for 1200 bucks.
I want a nice strat. Can you give me some advice on which one to choose?

Warmoth Necks

Well after many attempts at aquiring a Fender neck for my project I have decided to order a Warmoth neck instead and just put on a Fender decal instead. My question is has anyone used Warmoth for their guitars or projects?

Also what is the general opinions on the many neck contours they offer. I have large hands, and have been playing a highway one strat C neck for sometime now, but was looking at either a SRV or Clapton style neck.

Any opinions would be most appericated as I have been banging my head trying to figure out which neck style would be the best. Thanks.
