I posted awhile back that I got too aggressive with some polish on my R9 silkscreen and accidently removed the 'm' and 'o' from the silkscreen. Tom volunteered to repair it FREE. He did. I just got my R9 back. I waited NO TIME for it. I think shipping took longer than he had it. It is GREAT. My R9 is perfect again. I can't say enough good things about Tom. I hope he takes the time to show before and after pics. here. If anyone had/has any questions about Tom Bartlett's talent, customer service, or trustworthiness I can give Tom my highest recommendation. Thanks again Tom...... hope you post some pics.
Did All Bursts Have Perfectly Flat Pickup Planes?

It does seem that the bridge pickup lays on a perfectly flat surface, but what about the neck pickup? Is there just a pit of curve on the edges that cause the pickup rings to bend a bit? What do you think?

Here are some examples:

I've had this thing going for a while but now it's time to realize it.
I'm talking about my next build, a '60 Les Paul Custom.
I'm going to use the file Tom and I had as original for our 2d plan but it need some changes.

There's maybe some friendly soul out there who could give me some vintage Custom measurements, I'm primary looking for the headstock shape, the inlays and the binding dimensions.

Well, we got them done!
Magnus worked his modelling magic and designed a great layout! We had the proofs printed earlier this week, and after a bit of correcting and rearranging we finally got the first run printed. :dude:
Thanks to everyone who ordered durring the 'pre-order', you'll be getting your copy shortly.
We will stop offering the free nut on monday, when these begin shipping.
Here are a couple of 'teasers'!

I've got a '61 SG reissue from 1999 and I'm planning on putting some vintage style (push in bushing) tuners on it, to replace the ugly-ass (and falling apart) boxy "Gibson Deluxe" tuners (the standard ones with the hex nut and washer)

Only problem is, the washers have left impressions on the face of the headstock, which leaves a little 'halo' around the 3/8 to 1/4 conversion bushings.

Would it be possible for my local luthier to fill the dents with some nitro lacquer and buff them out? Anyone here done this sort of thing before?

Hey guys,

I was looking for a dunlop 6100 jumbo frets on ebay in a good price and great shipping to brazil but I couldn't find it unfortunately.

the only one I found was this

Dunlop 6100 Jumbo Fretwire Fret Wire for Guitar & Bass - eBay (item 350279508034 end time Dec-15-09 07:59:42 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/Dunlop-6100-Jumbo-Fretwire-Fret-Wire-for-Guitar-Bass_W0QQitemZ350279508034QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item518e492042)

but I think it's too expensive for me, specially because I want to buy 2 of them.

in other hand, I found these fender jumbo frets in a great deal condition, but I'm not so sure of buying that, because I don't know the exact measurements of it, and I want something equal or very close to dunlop 6100.

Genuine Fender Guitar Fret Wire Jumbo 099-1999-000 - eBay (item 170397447434 end time Nov-20-09 09:23:34 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170397447434&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT)

Could someone help me finding out what are these measurements?

I searched on fender's website but did not find it.

thanks since now dudes.

Anyhow it has that multi-layered binding which is damaged in places and I am having trouble sourcing some.
Any ideas?
