New to the board... I have only owned 3 Les Pauls... A early 70s Les Paul Custom / Sunburst (I am still kicking myself in the ass for letting it go. I only paid $325 for it in 1981)

Next was a 1996 Standard Sunburst. Sounded great but I could not get used to the 50s neck.

Next up, which I still own, is my 2004 Standard / Sunburst with a 60s neck... Here tis......

And for you eagle eyes out there, yes I switched the stock bridge for a Gibson fine tuner bridge. I also changed out the bridge PAF for a 498T...

Hello!:D
I've been lurking here for a few months...this forum is very informative and friendly... So I decided to join this community!

I'm from Korea(that explains me bad grammar and spellinggs) but I currently reside in boca raton FL.

I'm a long time piano/keyboard/flute/kazoo player, and recently picked up a guitar.

My LP '08 standard is the first string instrument I ever had. I really like it but now I'm looking for something with a tremolo..

About me, I have 28 years old and start playing an acoustic guitar 11 years ago, but I stop during 6 years of those to do my Eletronic Engineer graduation. Two years ago I started to play again and bought an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I'm having classes for a year and a half, I don't have a band yet, but I hope someday I'll have.

Hi all, I've been shamelessly using your forum for info on all sorts of stuff for a few years now, but now that I finally have a Les Paul I thought I'd come out of hiding!

I've been playing guitar since about 1975, although I switched to drums as my main instrument from '78 to '86.

I've always wanted a Les Paul, but the periods where I had money didn't ever seem to coincide with those when they were a bit out of fashion and consequently cheaper to buy. Last Friday I bought the black '95 Standard, because it was too cheap and played too nice to walk away from, despite this being one of those periods where I definitely can't afford it! Ah well, you only live once.

It's typical well-gigged '90s guitar. Good thick top with deep carve, thick binding which is cracking and yellowing*, slim-taper neck, various dings and heavy wear marks (I think the previous owner wore studs, maybe he was in Kiss, lol). It has also quite obviously been dropped on it's face, as the pickup covers have deep dings made by the low-E string and the nut has been cracked and repaired. Having waited for 30 years to own one, guess how much I care about all that?

I haven't had it to bits yet to see what pickups are in it, but I doubt they are standard unless Gibson were using very hot pups in the '90s. It's a bit of a face-melter even compared to my strat with a 12K Blue Lace Sensor. Haven't had a chance to get a meter onto it yet, I'm having too much fun playing it!:dude:

(*Now that there are smoking bans everywhere, will guitars stay looking brand-new for ever?)

I also have;
1988 Fender Deluxe American Standard Strat (quite rare)
1997 Fender USA Standard Strat
2006 Fender Telecaster 60s RI Mex (neck shaved to match real '64 Tele)
2002 Taylor Baby acoustic
197x Hondo Plywood Jazz Bass (for recording)

Hi all!
My name is Ivica, and i live in city of Zadar, Republic Croatia.
Long time ago i discover my passion: playing all sorts of instruments, but guitar (especially electric one) in first place.
Started with 18 years old, but with pause from 25 to 30 y.o. (now 35 y.o.)
Never playing proffesional, but i am part of one band for couple of years.
From the first moment with guitar till now, i always knew what my love will be:
Gibson LP. My second love (but not less in any mean) is Fender telecaster.

Before few years i have to do very bad thing: sell all my equipment. My true love is sold then...Gibson Les Paul custom (1974 year)...i will never forgive myself.
Now i own Yamaha SL 430 (1976 year, i think), Cimar Astra 2085 (1979 year), and one hand made strat/tele guitar; hopefully one day i will manage to gather money for Gibson custom again, i am seriously working on that.

See you on the discussions!

Every salesclerk and waiter in town is here waiting to catch their break. *All* of em play better than I can!

'Course the upside is the great live music scene, so I guess it all works out.

Just amazed at the depth of LP expertise here on MLP. Gonna take weeks to research past threads mining for model details and LP trivia. Already learned a ton though. And the photos are killing me.. *Lordy* you guys have some beautiful Les Pauls!

I joined up here a little while back so I figured I'd say hello. Some of you may know me from The Gear Page, my handle there is Lightnin1. I've gotten really heavy into Gibson guitars in the last year or two and have owned a bunch. My current guitars are an '06 '59 ES-335 Nashville Historic and a '09 '57 Goldtop/Darkback Historic Les Paul. Some of my favorite players are Peter Green, Mayall and Cream era Clapton, BB King, Freddy King, Mike Bloomfield, Grant Green and Kenny Burrell. I'm primarily a blues hack but have taken a real interest in old school Jazz lately. I'm hoping to learn alot here. Thanks!!

Thanks!!
