Question Epi LP JR and LP special

Ok a few years ago (06/07) when epi did the lp jr i missed the chance to buy one, i kicked myself for missing them
now they got them back out im thinking of getting one
aswell as the Lp special in TV yellow
i was wondering if anyone has any experiance with these 2 guitars and what theyre like?
Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Junior Alpine White (GAK) (les paul junior)
Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Special Singlecut (GAK) (les paul special)

im also thinking of buying the epiphone valve senior head and valve junior cab
does anyone know what the sound quality is like and what it would be like with these guitars

cheers =]

I have the Valve Sr Combo and I think it sounds great. Its very loud but has a master volume and gain knob. I'm not sure about the LP special but my '56 Goldtop with p90's sound great thought the VS also

Re: Epi LP JR and LP special

personally i wouldnt buy a junior with a humbucker its really a starter guitar and comparing it with the p90 the humbuckers less versatile you can get epiphone juniors with a p90 like this one

T) EPIPHONE LES PAUL Junior VS/LQ Japan (315821305) on eBay (end time 09-Jul-10 12:22:23 BST)

or this one i think has the p-100

EPIPHONE BY GIBSON JUNIOR MODEL TV YELLOW circa 1995 on eBay (end time 10-Jul-10 22:42:04 BST)

river's got a nice epi junior ask him
i dont know anything about the specials tho

Nothing wrong with the junior!
Just got a bolt-on neck and a humbucker.

i was told by a friends sales manager that the white bolt on was shite, and after handling one, i felt the same way. unless you being sarcastic, then by all means fire away, the set neck specials are fine though

The LP Junior sounds like s***, but it can be a cool project. I got one at GC for $75 used, put a SD Phat Cat ($70) on it, Grover STA-TITE tuners ($30), new knobs ($5), pickup ring ($10), Gibson truss rod cover like the old EPIs used to have ($10) and a custom pickguard from Chandler Pickguards ($50) and turned it into a pretty cool guitar for around $250. The stock PUP is awful though, but I'd still take this over a Squire Bullet for an entry level guitar.
