Can anyone tell me....

Hi everyone, I just bought an Epi LP Standard Plus. I posted Ngd pics a few days ago, and if any of you saw it I'm sure you'll agree that in the pics it looks really, really bright. It has a real nice top and sounds awesome. Anyway, my question is can anyone tell me if Gibson plastics fit Epi's ? (pickguard, volume and tone knobs, pick up rings etc..) If not, where can I get them. I want to change all my white plastic to Black to kind of "tone down" the color. I checked alot of threads on here and Googled, but am having trouble. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Can anyone tell me....

I am pretty sure that the knobs won't fit--If you want to upgrade the parts, there are some pretty cheap ways to do it...I am sure the pickup rings will fit, but they will be overpriced. My advice is to get them from Guitarfetish.com :

Guitar Hardware

and

Knobs

I've bought loads of pickups and parts from this company, and they all work great on Epiphones, and they don't break the bank.

Re: Can anyone tell me....

No Gibson stuff will fit because you Americans insist on using your Imperial system!

But seriously - only metric-sized stuff will fit your Asian (read: uses metric) guitar.

Guitar Fetish has great stuff.

Edit: I see that Brian has already posted Guitar Fetish. >> That shows their reputation?

Re: Can anyone tell me....

The member here named TWANG made me a pickguard for my epiphone LP, and it looks great.

Re: Can anyone tell me....

Guitarfetish.com for the win..

Pickguard would need trimming and even then don't look exactly right..

*Side note Gibson creams do not match Epi creams*

Heck, Epi's creams don't even match Epi's creams !!! Their "cream" pickguard looks white against the rings, but is clearly light cream when compared to something actually white ..... this was perhaps the main reason for my removing it - looked too "white"......especially in photos !!!

Re: Can anyone tell me....

I put Gibson Speed Knobs on both of my Epi's and they both fit on the pot shafts fine. However, I was disappointed when I bought a Gibson pickguard and it didn't fit my Epi LP Standard.

Re: Can anyone tell me....

i think that the volume and tone knobs would fit, but the pickguard 100% will not fit.

If Gibson knobs "fit fine" then you either bought the guitar used and it has different pots than stock or you forced the knobs on. Those are the only two explanations for "fit fine".

To the OP: Several persons have already given you good advice, go to GuitarFetish.

No, knobs do not fit a stock Epi.

I put a Gibson pickguard on my older '97 Epi and it needed to be trimmed a bit.

Metric pickup rings are a tad larger with a wider screw spacing than the Gibson rings.

Gibson US knobs are meant for the larger US/Imperial pot shaft. If you replace the pots with CTS or the like, you'll have to very carefully enlarge the holes a tad.
