Big headache update!!

Ok, first i thought that my neck pickup was dead but since plugging it into my Korg AX3000G and cranking the volume up it would seem that it is picking up but very quietly. Would you say that it needs replacing or maybe something else? I should have bought a new Les Paul, lol

Re: Big headache update!!

buy a 15 dollar multi mETER AND check the output of the pickup in question. iF It is dead, go spend 70 bucks on a SD which will be an upgrade anyway.

kirk out.

Looks like a cherry burst classic plus top LP from 04 or earlier , serial # will tell you when it was made, the first 2 digits after the letters are the year eg., EE 04 mIC 2004 . If you like the guitar and the pickup is the only problem I would say have it fixed as in new pickup if you do not want or need exspensive pick ups you can get GFS pick ups, or used MIA ones, or if you want Epi pickups they sell on E-bay cheap. ca-honestseller is a e-bay store that sells pairs of Epis for 40$ . GFS Untitled Page sells pickups which are pretty good for 35$ a piece also sell a kit .switch , pots and output jack for 25$. the caps that come whith the kit are NG. they also sell single pots 2.95 a piece.

i wouldn't get rid of it. especially if you like the feel. just have a professional check it out, if anything. get some price quotes on repair and/or parts and go from there.

I agree !
In fact I think that you should cut your losses and sell it to me. It's well known that 90's Epi LP's need a complete rewire and usually need new pots and switches so if you don't fancy doing the work then I'll give you £100 for it.
P.S. You need to deliver it for that offer too
