my sentiments exactly.. i think everyone is being cautious and what not due to all the fakes that ARE out there. unfortunately for you, you got it from ebay where it's hard to trust anything being sold so everyone seems to be a bit iffy even though someone said it's fine

like i stated before and dice said above, if you took it to a shop and they gave you the ok then don't stress and just get that TRC replaced haha

In my opinion the best way to spot a fake is by the messy/ sub standard wiring. If your guys at the shop have had a look at that and given it the all clear then I'm sure it's fine.
It's easy to find a replacement truss cover to swap for the one that's slightly misaligned so don't worry about it. I'd say you were good to go.

I doubt that the guys at the shop really gave that much of a *&#@ and if they have done their internet homework. The only judgement I would trust would be from Gibson themselves and I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out as they would like to find the b***ards who are doing it too. A sh*tload of really impressive fakes coming out of New Zealand and Australia, probably because they're right next to Korea/China/Vietnam. I've seen tons of fakes that are only off by one small detail here or there. I'm sure they'll perfect it soon and no one will be able to tell. What gets me is a "set-up in the US" sticker on a guitar shipped directly from China? If yours has that, would you try to tell me it was shipped across the ocean, inspected in the US and then shipped back to China where it was again shipped back to the US to you? NFW. Nope. I might believe that they forged the sticker and put it on a out the back door item but not "that."

Epi Zakk Buzzsaw - looks fake to me - has the wrong knobs for sure...

KJ - welcome to the forum, by the way! Hopefully you get this all sorted out...

That Buzz Saw is fake. Check out the valid Buzzsaw from the "reputable" site in this thread and now look at his. See the stripe running by the 3 way switch? On the real one the black completely covers the lobe of the body above the switch. THe fake does not. Its a common mistake to the buzzsaws.
