Well, after forgetting my username thinking it was the same as my e-mail, I've been searching this forum anonymously. You don't wanna read a fourteen year-old's words about forgetting their stuff.
Here is my point. I've been wanting to switch my bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan JB Sh-4, and been reading and watching videos of DIY. I am just not liking the muddiness of the original pups. So, after school today I removed the back cover revealing all my pots and what not. Here is what it looked like: ![]() It looks like a complete disaster to me, a whole wreck, a tangle of wires. After seeing that I won't even know where to start on changing the pups out. I just decided to ignore it for now and deal with it later, until i realized when I turn my volume/tone knobs on both tremble and rhythm the whole pot moves. That being the worst, no. I plugged the LP in and when I moved or turn the knobs. Scratching. They have never been cleaned but, I have never thought of that about 3 months ago. The pots are original pots that came with her. They are 500k pots. So here are my options. 1. Deal with it, pots cleaned, tightened, and the SD JB installed. 2. Find pots that will fit, have someone rewire it, JB installed. 3. Find pots that will fit, I rewire it using a diagram, JB Installed. If I get the pots replaced and rewired should I get 500k push/pull? or just regular? Guys, I don't wanna go this way on her forever. Help. Where can I get a fair priced yet worth the money pots that will fit my Epiphone? What should I diagram it to if I rewire it myself. I just the bridge pickups the most but I would still like to have the neck and both on the toggle switch. with the two bottom knobs being bridge pups and top being for the neck pups. Both Left being Volumes and the right being Tones/what ever.

for a les paul, .022 capacitors are awesome. if you want to feel REALLY special, get Jonesy on here to hook you up with some PIO (paper in oil) caps that are .022 for the bridge and .015 for the neck. sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Re: Epiphone LP Std '07 Wiring
Humm sounds interesting, I'm needing to pick up a book from my library about guitar electronics, hopefully it has something in there.
If I strip and desaughter the pups can I use the neck against. (Getting a JB)

Wiring Library and a JB will be a great HOT bridge sound to contrast with the softer neck.
