Open G sticks out way too much

Hey, I am playing a song like don't fear the reaper, wth arpeggio'd chords, where 3 of the chords have an open G as the last note in the chord. Basically When I hit the G string it completely covers everything and sticks way out. I've tried moving the magnetic pole and turned it counterclockwise, quite a bit. Its also in tune, and intonation shouldn't matter since its open.

Re: Open G sticks out way too much

Turning the polepiece counterclockwise will raise it, no?

You want to screw that pole in farther and possibly raise some others.

ALso, could it be your technique?

Whoops, I meant clockwise. But it still happens with out the amp, So its just the string I guess, not much I can do there I guess.

I have had some strings do that before too. I usually just went ahead and replaced the set. What kind of strings do you use? I use super slinkys.

Yeah sometimes helps and also a wound G helps that out a bit also. More so with a strat than a LP worth a try .
