The Slash is more of a real LP. Really there isn't much about it that runs contrary to what LP's have traditionally been. Zack's guitar on the other hand is fairly far removed from LP tradition with the maple neck and EMG's.

I would go for the Slash.

Like some of the features of the Zakk, e.g. the oiled maple neck, EMG's and the larger frets, but I can't hang with the bullseyes. Cool for Zakk, but way not me. Gotta go with the Slash.

Funny how people get really pissed on threads like that, comparing 2 famous guitar players..

Let me tell you now. Slash is for me one of the best players and hearing his playing is almost like enjoying an espresso at a terrasse. I think every player is trying use his name for things. That is normal. I am not saying they always maintain their dignity, but I am jst saying it is understandable. By the way, Yes, Slash and ZW would probably never use an Epiphone for recording / touring, but I think it is cool to have hip instruments, even when you dont want to spend a fortune on them. My 1st guitar was an epiphone and I loved it. I prefer Gibson b/c a huge quality difference, but that does not mean eppi are bad. YOU JUST HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT EPI AND GIBSON ARE 2 DIFFERENT BRANDS, that is all.

As far as their signature models go. No way you would see me with a ZW model. I am too traditional, so I went all the way and got a VOS Slash model: INCREDIBLE! Here are a few pics.

I would prefer the Slash signature. Not only because i like Slash's tone, but i also think the SD Alnico Pro II's are more suited for my playing style than the EMG's. Also, the Slash signature features a long neck tenon, which would give the guitar more sustain.

I'm not to big on the sig models either but if I had to choose, it would be the Slash. I am not a fan of the bulls eye, way too loud for my taste. The Slash model has the more traditional look.

The only way i would have the ZW is if it had the active emg's. I prefer the Slash epi to play every day. After changing the pups on my epi zw all i can say is the hz's are terrible. So personally i would go for the slash sig.
