Re: Epiphone SG Limited edition 1966 Reissue...........HELP!
You can't go wrong with SG's. If you wanna know how it plays, play it.

Re: Epiphone SG Limited edition 1966 Reissue...........HELP!
the main reason why im looking for an sg because i want to be able to have two quality guitars and the 2 that i have now is my baby my LP standard and the other is a fender knockoff brand. I am kind of getting tired of hammering and playing the hell out of my lp and the lp doesnt really get that crunchy and hard rock tone that im looking for.

GC, MF, Sam Ash, AMS etc, seems like they are on sale right now, the best price that I've seen is $350.00. As far as playability, it is what you'd expect, it's light and fast. I got mine from Craig's List for $300.00. It had upgraded SD pickups. No case. Found a case, again CL, for $40.00-a real Epiphone case! I used to have a Gibson SG but had to sell it years ago, this one plays as well as the Gibson. The Duncans have quite a bit more bite than the stock pick ups on the Gibson. All in all it is a very good guitar, one solid piece of of mahogany, no veneer. It's one of the "keepers". Good luck!

Re: Epiphone SG Limited edition 1966 Reissue...........HELP!
The G-400's are great guitars, I have a '96 that I put in EMG's and this guitar wails. Plays great too. The only issue I can think of to let you know about is the pickguard. To take the pickguard off the guitar, you have to take off the bridge and pull out the bushings. Bad design in my opinion. A lot of guys who get that guitar have modified it by enlarging the holes on the pickguard to be larger than the bushings so you could then push the bushings in for good and the pickguard would fit back on and the larger openings would clear them. Hope this helps!

It is very well put on and you can only see it when you look around the top where the beveled edge appears. It's no thicker than card stock paper.

that about the SGs. Surprising considering that it is a "Custom Shop" model. But still, since I don't have X-Ray vision and can't see thru that 1/32" of veneer, I DON"T CARE!!! It still looks, feels, plays, and sounds like I want. Giggedy!
