Broken Les Paul Silverburst Head Stock Repairable?

Do you think this Silverburst can be repaired? It looks like it broke off right above the nut:

Thanks, niguy1 for your useful post.

OP - that CAN be repaired - although it'll probably cost you a few hundred bucks to have it done well. Guys like BCRGreg here on the forum could do that repair. He has fixed much, much worse than that.

LOL.

This isn't actually my guitar, I'm just thinking about buying it and then repairing it.

Does it look fake? The pictures suck ass so it's kind of hard to tell by the head stock logo.

Gorilla Glue for wood?

Should I use a particular Titebond II such as Titebond II for wood, or just the original Titebond II? I want to get everything right.

Have it repaired by a pro - or pass it up and get another one.

Supposedly, this guitar was broken on purpose. I'm not sure of all the details.

I'm pretty sure there is only 1 titebond II. Howevere if I am wrong, get the wood type. That fix looks super easy. Looks like a flat plane break be honest.

Thanks a lot!

I believe this is the Titebond II you were talking about:

I'm not an expert but does the guitar look fake? The picture with the Epiphone logo is not good in quality but the picture with the knobs may work.

I don't think it's fake, it does look Korean cause the knobs don't look like top hats like on the chinese and japanese ones. Also, the white shapes on the fretborad are squares (tipicall of a korean lp) and it's a custom and a lot of customs were made in korea.Anyways, you'd need the serial number of the guitar to confirm this. Anyways, just because it's korean doesn't mean it's fake... Does look real to me just so you know.
lol

Wow, first you laugh at someone who posts pics of a broken guitar and then you spread misinformation. Great job!

Looks like OneSilverTwat threw a bit of a tantrum.

If you do get it repaired, you could think about a refin too. One word.... 'Soulburst'.

Oh, and I would ignore niguy1, he appears to know literally nothing.

Laugh all you want. I never said that it isn't Korean, just that you spread misinformation.
You can't tell the origin of an Epiphone by the inlay shape or knob type. Customs have block inlays and speed knobs, no matter if they were made in Korea or China. Standards come with top hats, no matter if they were made in Korea or China.
It depends on the model, not were it was made.

Anyhow, telling by the logo position it's most likely a QingDao made LP.

But the knobs don't look like top hats and the white shapes on the fretboard are squares, it must be MIK.

Re: Broken Les Paul Silverburst Head Stock Repairable?

Well, it turns out I got outbid.

The starting bid was $150.00 or Buy it Now for $175.00. I was stupid and bid $150.00 and now it's up to over $200.00! Once a bid is made, the Buy it Now option goes away. The cool thing about that auction was it came with a new Epiphone hard shell case and free shipping.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it would have been a pain in the ass anyway and too expensive to fix. I'll just buy a new one or something...
