Re: £46 for a cap...

Yeah. Well, it's just a cap. Some people are willing to bend to insanity to get their guitar as vintage-correct as possible. Since you're modding an Epi, and not restoring a vintage Gibby, I'd advise sticking to what Jonesy has to offer you - they work just as great.

Re: £46 for a cap...

I wasn't considering buying it, was just wondering why it's £46. So it's an original cap from a Gibson? Or just one made to sound like it?

Re: £46 for a cap...

It's made to look (and supposedly sound) like an original Bumblebee cap, used widely in electronics back in the day.

The cap cost less than 1 to make and they charge 45 for the all the BS Hype associated with it.

I'd only spend that amount of dough on the real thing

Re: £46 for a cap...

If you have a vintage or Historic Gibson you know that real Bees have lost some of their original properties and are much more expensive, so if you must have Bees why not get newer versions that are within tolerance?

$42 here isn't much compared to other parts, putting them in an Epi would benefit your tone but as someone said there are other PIO caps that will do the same thing without the hype.
