Epiphone Les Paul Nut, Washers and Volume Knob

Hi all,

I've been following this forum for a while and it has inspired me to do up my Ep Les Paul Custom a bit. I've started with a (well overdue) new set of strings - pure nickel 10-45's.

The LP has a missing volume/tone knob and also the gold nut and washer for the toggle switch. Does anyone know where I can get replacements in the UK?

I have found this replacement toggle switch on eBay but it is not quite the same as the original one on my Ep LP Custom, and I only need the nut and washer. If I remember right, the nut was gold coloured and circular with lots of teeth.

3 way toggle switch replacement for les paul in black on eBay (end time 18-Oct-09 19:32:06 BST)

Thanks in advance.

Try this dude:

WD Music | Hardware & Parts - Screws, Nuts & Washers - Nuts & Washers

You're looking for metric measurements on an Epi, none of the Gibson stuff will fit cause it's imperial. So look for metric! And if you're not sure, ask.

Seriously though, thanks for letting us know you changed the strings on your guitar. I was torn as to whether or not I should do that. I was unsure if changing the strings would hurt the value of my guitar.

You should leave the original strings on the guitar for the lifetime of the guitar. That's part of the Lifetime Warranty. If a string breaks Gibson should just replace it. I would just write them for a new set of strings seeing how the guitar comes with a Lifetime Warranty. That should cover strings too.

Complete Les Paul Upgrade Electrical Component Kit
Well, metric pots will fit straight in, so you'll be looking for "Alpha", if you want to enlarge the holes in your guitar, you can use CTS, but you'll need new knobs. CTS are said to be better by the more experienced guys, and Alpha are near impossible to solder to, they have some funny coating on them. That's what I've heard.

Also, to the rest of you - Cut the guy some slack, he's new, no need to rip him. We were all like that at one point. Ignorance is bliss.

Luke.
