Epiphone prices around the world (a 'fun' game)

Hey guys,
It's really interesting when you log on to Ebay to find second hand guitar prices, and the way in which they fluctuate between different countries. For example, in the US, you can buy a second hand 2006 SG special for about $600. I can tell you now, certainly in the last year or two, I have never seen a special in England go for less than about $800. I know there are a lot of people on these forums from different places around the world, so I thought everyone could put forward the cheapest price they can find of a new Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plaintop (in dollars for ease of comparison), so we can see who is getting the raw deal.

Individual sellers (ie. not shops) on ebay don't count!

They certainly sell for more in Australia. although i got my Std Plain top for AU$579 (US$523) new! (not from Guitar Paradise though)

Here in Venezuela, in local guitar shops, an Epiphone Les Paul standard is priced around US$ 1.200, and a Studio for about US$ 800.

Argentina. Both Plain and Plus tops: US$ 735,-
With an Epi Plus Top for US$ 549 in GC o MF... that is a "normal" difference for us here.

But the Fender prices are almost ridiculous down here. In Buenos Aires you can grab a brand new MIM Strat for... US$ 1000.

Beat that…

I bought mine from zzounds honeyburst standard plaintop for $479.00 U.S.
it was a good deal the local music stores wanted $569.

I know...us aussies get ripped off, and theres no way of buying direct from american stores because of "maufacturers restrictions" I bought my Ultra, and the next day, found out I could of spend a few hundred more and got a Gibson Robot Studio...

But I love my Ultra

Hey rob9 how does the little acoustic pickup on the neck of the Ultra sound? Do you ever use it? I finaly seen one in the store the other day, but didnt get to play it.

I didn't buy an ultra 2, I settled with the plain Ultra. I didn't feel like forking out an extra 200 for a tiny pickup, which I would probably never use. Its exactly the same as the ultra besides that tiny pickup...

It certainly does feel like we get the short straw sometimes! I'm pretty happy with my Epi but if/when i want to upgrade I may go Maton instead of Gibson and keep my money in Australia. The MS2000 STD looks nice.

It sucks about the Sale at Sam Ash on Robots for US$999 and they're selling full price over here (We don't have Sam Ash in Australia)

Obviously the price varies slightly from store to store and the used price varies more from seller to seller but that's some kind of average.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top - 605$ and you'll get a Marshall Delay for free when you buy a Plus Top.

It's not difficult to buy Epi for a little bit more - depends on store you choose.
