Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
The screw came of from the button and now its loose when I put the screw back in. Should I apply some supper glue to the screw and then screw it in or replace it with a bigger ( thicker in diametre ) screw ?
It might not sound seriouse but if its not done properly than I might drop my guitar and break the neck..Need help thanks.

Hopefully that works for you. The "harder" the toothpicks, the better. Skewers work as well. I sometimes use a little bit of wood glue on the toothpick as well.

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
Try wooden match sticks, I recently found these to work so much better than toothpicks.

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
I dip the stick in PVA glue first. For extra security, put the screw in while the PVA is still wet.

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
I use Dunlop strap locks, and put some Gorilla Grip Glue on the screw before screwing it in....I do this to all of my guitars...Those suckers are never coming off.

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
Have you ever seen a Dunlop come apart? There's microscopic springs and teeny little steel balls in there. Schallers don't come apart, and even if they did, the U-shaped strap-end receptacle would still keep the guitar from falling off.

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
I don't know but one look at those Dunlops tells me that this statement is BS!
Not saying they don't work but they're definately not better than Schallers! |

Re: Starp buttons came off . WHY ?
Now, now.....we all know that Dunlops are better than Schallers, and Epiphones are better than Gibsons!
