Re: Epi / Japan

heck I would buy that and put a new headstock veneer on it. That is pretty close to my ideal top.

Re: Epi / Japan

That's the Elitist isn't it?

They are very, very close to Gibson specs I believe. Some of our top musicians are choosing to use them instead of the Gibsons.

Cool top.

Re: Epi / Japan

I just picked up an elitist, and that isn't the same headstock shape - I think that is an older Japan/Epi from before they moved production to Korea and then China. The Elitists have kind of a rounded hump in the middle of the top of the headstock instead of the dip that Gibbys have.

Beautiful guitar though - I'd like to get my hands on an old Japanese made Epi Custom one of these days.

Beautiful Guitar! there are a few elitists i have seen with the open book headstock, but that is an fuji-gen-gakki. its basically an orville branded epiphone.

Re: Epi / Japan

Here's a regular Epi headstock, and an Elitist headstock - I just got the Elitist last week:

Alright! Someone who knows what they're talking about

I know that my Elitist was made at the Fujigen factory as well.
