Re: The Best Combination

You forgot an SG.

You can't have a great collection without the best guitar ever made

Re: The Best Combination

Mine would not be 2 Les Pauls, that is for sure.

If you are a total LP nut, I'd think that it would be one w/ Hbuckers and 1 with P90's

Re: The Best Combination

How about an LP and a Strat, you cover more bases that way.

Re: The Best Combination

My personal choice would be an LP Standard with a "shredder" guitar, like a Jackson Soloist or ESP Eclipse.

Same here - LP and a Strat or Tele.

Re: The Best Combination

Two different guitars with two tonal varities. As said above, two LPs would be a good combo if one had Humbuckers and the other P90s. If you dont necessarily need/want two Les Pauls, then your choices are virtually unlimited.

Re: The Best Combination

When I finally upgrade the pickups on my les paul, I plan on putting something with great distortion in the bridge and something that sounds great clean in the neck since I never play anything distorted with the neck pup. That way I could get a lot more out of one guitar

I find a Guitar + Strings seems to be a good combination MOST of the time......................................Unless you're playing a fender

You still need a tele and a hollowbody(ovations don't count!)... ..

Not to mention a jaguar..

Re: The Best Combination

mine would be epi custom, made metal with SD blackouts (or EMGs 81 85 really doesnt matter) then a gibson les paul classic 1998 as the year with SD alnico II pros neck and bridge. amber color with all gold hardware. then gibson sg. just flat out all original. then fender american road warn strat with either scooped mid pickups (john mayer like) or some fat tex mex's. then an ibanez jem. whatever model the 2000$ + one is (steve vai)and yes i want a 5 guitar combo.

Re: The Best Combination

Where to begin? Variety of music styles comes to mind: Ultra high output, tremolo, single coil, p-90's, piezzo. With unlimited options and combinations, I think it would be impossible to come up with the ultimate combo of guitars. Although, being infinately rich would help.
