Re: is this a good wiring kit???

It's decent, but I would recommend an RS kit which has better pots and paper-in-oil caps. Orange Drops aren't the best cap choice for an LP. Here's a thread detailing my RS kit install:

I recomend Buying from Jonesy. He prewires the kits. It's about 90 dollars and you get Vol bleeds with it, also you support MLP and Jonesy. instead of a biz.

Re: is this a good wiring kit???

I make wiring harnesses, too..

Spragues may or may not be everyones choice, but I use them a lot.. and nobody has complained.
oil in paper caps are good, too. I don't ever say there's a better unless it comes to the actual quality of the component.
Spragues are well made and perform well.
Whether they do so to your taste is not arguable.. people vary there.

usually you pay more for something with gibsons name on it, that's had just as well.. for example CTS posts.. somewhere else.

The wire is good switchcraft is always good.

I wire mine up free.. mounted on a card.
I also add treble bleed caps free.
And you have 100% satisfaction or money back.

However, my main thing here is not sales, but the kit itself.
I'd add some ties.. they loop around the wires and tighten down.. like a garbage sack tie, but locking.
you can choose switch tip color with me, too.
I include wiring diagram print out.. plus I supply a few drawn instructions on the card..

the main thing is, end up with this:
a solid harness with good solder joints, no globs of solder, no ruined pots, that fits neatly and is easily removed and repaired. Nice short wire runs, with just enough free play to take parts in and out.
With the kit above you can do that!

Lots of people support Jonesy and say his work and parts are excellent. I beleive 'em.

Re: is this a good wiring kit???

Jonesy is a good guy, I got my harness w/ the volume bleeds for a great price. In my case though I found that the volume bleeds did not work well with my set up ( he says its hit & miss with the 50's wiring sound ). I took them off and gave them to a friend who wanted to try them out though. I'll more than likely get another harness from him when I drop some big money and get a Gibson down the line.
