*bump*

I wonder if it would be worth it for them to consider another run....these really are nice looking guitars...

(I can't help but wonder what a guitar like this might look like if it got "The Supreme" treatment)

uhhh, if they were actually out of phase i think it wouldn't help to swap the neck and make it the bridge pickup...

Re: Classic quilt discontinued?

the pickups in the classics are awesome. they are ceramic and are supposed to be copies of the 498R/500T Gibsons. i like them.

The pickups in the epi classic are not ceramic! They are not copies 498r/500t , no such thing as a 498r only a 498t and its Alnico.

Yeah they are alnico V Some say they are the same as the reg Classic alnico (covered) pups but I think not ,they have a different designation . same dc resistance. I have a GT classic and they are Alnico ,said so on the peel off sticker as well. IMO they are pretty good sounding pups.

Yes I tend to think so . I think its the lack of the Brass cover and wax , that accounts for most the the difference IMO. Though I picked out and have a Epi standard that does or did sound very nice with the covered guys. GFS in it now.

In general though I agree ,the coverless ones used in the classic models do perform better.
