breaking my nut
Yes the title sounds bad shhh.
I don't know what happened but taking my guitar out of the case the low E got caught on something and got pulled around to the back of the neck and snapped that piece of the nut off. Is it out of reach of DIY to get a pre-cut bone nut as a replacement or should I just take it to Long and Mcquade?

Re: breaking my nut
I believe it is "Busting my Nut."
![]() Check out Roman's thread about the complete Epi setup. (I personally take my guitars to a luthier for nut work - its worth the extra $$ to have it done well, rather than do it half-assed myself. I do pickup installs and all of that, but some things are better left to a luthier IMO). |

Re: breaking my nut
Meh, if you have a file DIY. It's a 15 dollar part. Get a bone or Tusq nut, and keep the legnth the same as the old one if you are happy with it.
