I like my amp. It serves its purpose as a glorified practice amp that can hold its own in little jam sessions with drums and Fender tube amps. Is it great? Nah. But it's good enough for me right now.

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
little bit more than a coil tap ;]
series/split/parallel for each pickup split sounds amazing for both pickups parallel can get you a great Brian May tone I also have the neck and middle wired out of phase so when I mix each pup in split or parallel I can get some really cool sounds, stratty single coil stuff....but mainly really good Brian May tones. and btw my pickups are a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary in the neck and a custom order GFS Fat Paf with two slug coils....and its the best humbucker combo I've heard in any guitar IMO.

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
Here is my two Les Pauls.
A Gibson Les Paul Studio - Alpine White, and an Epi Les Paul Sunburst. I love the neck on the Epiphone. It's thinner, giving me better grip around the neck. It's too bad I'm gonna sell it. And that's why I wanna know if it's real or not.

I can't resist when it comes to my baby... Changed out the pups once again... stock at neck and a SWV Rockfield at the bridge.

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
Here's my Studio and my Stratomojocaster I just finished building (single coil wiring is hard when the factory diagram is messed up)

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
Thanks Les, she's one of those that just screamed at me in the store, my least favorite burst outside of the crazy gekko and purple nonesense gibson put out when they accidentally hired color blind painters. Wasnt even in the market for a paul, I was looking for a solid first own guitar to keep my little one out of my collection, the first couple times I didnt even picker her up, then finally I did, never plugged her in, looked her over real close, strummed around a little, day my tax check came in I bought her and took her straight to my luthier, who promptly ridiculed me for buying an epiphone for myself when I have handbuilt (one by him to replace my gibby that he got tired of repairing the headstock on) top of the line custom guitars in my stable, then I pulled her out of the case and he stopped laughing, had her gutted , all new electronics from jack to switch, setup, and the day I went to pick her up I got an offer to trade her even for a 3 month old Gibson vintage mahogany, which I passed on. She plays better than she looks, and sounds better than she plays.

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
wow man right on. Wish I could say the same for mine. Right now the electronics are a little jacked. I just put in new caps and there ok but not what I was looking for. I'll get her all tightened up soon enough.

Re: Show Off You're Les Paul!
If the Epiphone is from Korea and the mid-nineties, which it looks like it is, it's real. The ones made there, especially at the Samick factory, have characteristics that make them look fake. The most obvious signs are the misplaced knobs and the really thin bridge without thumbwheels. Usually the logo on the headstock is put on there rather straight with no sloping and the fretboard inlays will be out of some dull silver plastic. I have one myself, it's a great guitar after I upgraded it some.
