Is Webcam with microphone a good way of recording guitar for youtube

I wanted to record some songs with my guitar and put them on youtube but not sure whats the best way of doing this. Should I go with a webcam with mic and record directly or should I buy a guitar lead that connects to PC and records. I have an electric guitar and need help. thanks

Did you sync the audio and video afterwards or it recorded the audio at the same time as video ?

Webcams are definitely not ideal for this sort of thing. And for sound quality, it really depends on what type of guitar sound you're going for... for heavier more distorted stuff it can sometimes be best to use a DI box and just use an amp sim on the pc... Or mike your amp and use a DI box. Or, just use a regular mic plugged into your soundcard, which is what most people do. Poor quality sound but better than nothing.

Well with the software that came with computer, I would have had to sync it, but it was too hard. I downloaded youcam software, it's perfect for syncing. You get a 30 day free trial, and it's like 20 dollars to buy, but I'm sure you can find it for free somewhere

What can I say, I like my action low. It's a lot better now though, with the same action. Or maybe I stopped noticing. Either way, you can't hear it when your listening from more than a few feet away so its all good
