NGD: Another Tribute Plus

I'll keep it brief:

My Tribute Plus arrived today and overall I am pretty happy with this guitar for the price. Out of the box I was a bit disappointed with how high the action is, how dry the fretboard is, and how terribly unpolished the frets are (bends feel absolutely gross). However, with a little love (and a new bridge) I think this will be a great player and one I will definitely be keeping around.

Thanks, guys. I'm playing it through a Mesa/Boogie Mini Rectifier and an Avatar 112 with a Vintage 30. The sound is awesome! Really digging the Classic 57 and 57+ in this guitar, and the series-parallel switching sounds great, though there is an audible pop when engaged on the neck pickup.

I mentioned in another post that I had purchased and returned a 2012 Gibson Studio because I just didn't feel that the quality was where it should be given the price of the instrument. I am much more satisfied with this axe, and could buy another and still have spent less than I did on the Gibson!

I ordered from Sweetwater last Wednesday because I noticed they had just gotten several of the black cherry finish in stock. Did you order from somewhere that was back ordered?

I didn't know this colour before to be honest. But ever since the massive flows of tribute+ and a Gibson studio recently, I kinda love this colour and finish now! It give you the 'mature' sort of feel, if you know what I mean.

Got a little time this morning to show my new Epi the love it needed. Took some 0000 steel wool to the fretboard. I got it cleaned up real nice and the frets as polished as I could before oiling the board with Fret Doctor. Here is an after pic of the fretboard:

I think it looks much darker than before. Waiting on it to dry completely before restringing. Can't wait to see how it plays now! These are such great guitars I may buy another before the year is over.
