Depends on your preferences. The 56GT has P-90s and the TP has humbuckers with coil-splitting. What sort of tone are you looking for?

i like playing all kinds of music but mostly i like playing ballads style rock like lifehouse so im looking for a great clean sound but that doesnt mean i dont enjoy plying with gain

You will have much more tone options with the Trad Pro. If you want versatility, go with the TP.

I think that will depend more on your amp than anything else. I have to say that I like the neck pup on my 56GT for nice clean bluesy tones. You're really going to want to try them both out for yourself (or listen to a lot of samples on youtube) to determine which one you like better.

If you have an Epi dealer within driving distance that has these in stock, you really need to go play them both.

the 2 guitars have the exactly same gold finish? or is it a diferent color?

Are you located near that shop where you saw these two gits? If yes the best thing to do is to try them both. Best part, you can see how they look so you'll be able to decide which shade of gold is your preference.

I owned a goldtop Traditional Pro for a little bit, so I can tell you the differences between them that I observed.

Both were similar in color (both the top and the back had the same gold/maroon colors).
The 56GT has a glossy finish on the back and neck, while the TP has a satin finish.
The 56GT is noticeably heavier than the TP.
The necks on both were relatively similar in size and shape. I don't know if they're identical, but I didn't notice a huge difference between the two.

thanks. you just solved my problem, that was all i wanted to hear. the pickups and the color were the only things for which i couldn't decide the guitar i was going to buy. but now that you told me that its the same top and back color im going for the les paul 56. thanks a lot to everyone
