LP Jr.
I bought a new LP Jr. to have for a project, I am going to spend some time experimenting with this one. It's the vintage sunburst.
Some of the ideas. new tuners are an absolute must (stock ones suck ass). I am going to make this one a screamer, so it will get a the DP100 Super D pickup, upgraded electronics and hardware.

Re: LP Jr.
So let's see what you can do to a cheapo like the Epiphone LP Junior! What about the intonation for now? Are all frets placed right into the fretboard?

Re: LP Jr.
the intonation is great and the action feels great, it's a lot better quality than what I had figured the fret edges are smooth and the finish is flawless.

Re: LP Jr.
Sounds like a fun project. Did you get one of the set necks? I know they were making them for a while...

Re: LP Jr.
Lol, that's what I want. A junior with a set neck and the p-100 or whatever pickup. That way it's alot more similar to a proper Junior, and better to mod.

Re: LP Jr.
The P100's not all that great, but some people like them. It had an underwound "dummy" coil to help cancel the heavy P90 hum, but also increases the output and midrange response. From what I can tell, MLP is split in terms of favorability - I'm one of the nays.
Try it out and see if you dig it. If you're looking for something more laid back and balanced/vintage sounding, snip the white wire connecting both coils and you're in true P90 territory

Re: LP Jr.
I have tried P100's before but I am a nay as well.
It's a bolt, I was at the evil GC and just happened to find it when I was looking for a case for a different guitar.
