NAFGD - Epi LP, bought from a fellow MLPer.

Neck - MadHouse Designs (MHD) Custom Wind
Bridge - Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro (APH-1B)
Tuners - Schaller Deluxes
PIO .015
Knob Pointers....

Sweetness. I know I'm in the honeymoon phase, but this thing sounds better (to me) than any Les Paul I've ever played. Admittedly, that's not a lot of guitars, but it does include my Gibson 1974 Deluxe, with Dimarzio PAFs:

(anyone need a 38-yeal-old guitar?)

After playing the Epi, I plugged in the Gibby and my other Epi's, just to see if I was kidding myself. I wasn't. The Gib feels great, but doesn't sound as good to me.

The stock Epi.... I used to like it, now it sounds like someone took a crap in my amp!

I guess decent wiring and a good set of pickups can make a BIG difference in a guitar (as if there was any question in that matter).

All I have to say now.. Sinister must have one hell of a guitar! He sold this to me, because he has no more use for this gem.

No, I'll have to put that together some time.

That's what made me fall for it! Bad reason, I know, but it worked out great.

Re: NAFGD - Epi LP, bought from a fellow MLPer.

Took me a good two minutes of 'wow, that's a classy looking guitar' to clock the Epiphone on the headstock!! Shows how much I read thread titles, I guess ...

Nice LP!

Re: NAFGD - Epi LP, bought from a fellow MLPer.

Looks a great improvement. I had a Epi LP and was thinking of putting Slash pickups in with alnico II magnets... but decided to push the boat out and buy a Midtown Custom with burstbucker 1 and 2 in. The difference is hard to discribe but very striking. I think it's added clarity and better sound balance arcoss the strings that's the first thing I noticed. I'll never know how good I could have got my old Epi now... but looks like someone done the hard work for you :-)
