Epi Les Paul Custom-Gold vs. Chrome Hardware

I'd like to get an LP Custom in the near future, and I've noticed that they are mostly gold hardware, but I've seen a few chrome here and there.
I would prefer chrome for several reasons, but they seem pretty rare.
Does anyone have info on why chrome vs. gold, tips on finding chrome, etc?
Thanks for any helpful responses.

PS-Would love pics of your Custom with chrome.

S.

play it a lot and the gold will wear off anyway, and you'll be left with silver.

Im not a huge fan of the gold hardware either. My silverburst custom, and every other silverburst I have seen have chrome hardware, not sure if you like the silverburst though......

I personally prefer chrome hardware especially in a black guitar.

I usually prefer chrome but, on Customs I think that gold is more appropriate, lots of gold!

Before and after of my Custom.

Bridge and Tailpiece are nickel, tuners are Black Chrome. Not a fan of gold hardware.

That's what I'm talking about.
Considering a used Custom so I can justify the conversion.
Thanks for sharing.
Very sweet.
