So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
First, I hope this is the right place to post this.
I got my Epiphone Nighthawk Custom Reissue a couple weeks ago and have been happy with it so far. This guitar has a killer top on it. I've never seen a top this nice on an Epi. Trans amber in color, with ebony fretboard and mother of pearl inlays. Body and neck binding, its just a jem. Anyone else have one of these guitars? What do you think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
I have wanted one of these for SO long, however I went nuts buying pedals earlier this year, and no just don't have the current funds to get one. I want the black version.
I love how light-weight the guitar is, and with the PUP configuration and the push-pull pots, you can get a tele/strat sound out of it, yet it still carries the manufacture name I admire so much. Nice guitar!!!

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
That's a fine guitar
![]() I want to try one out, but I can't find any here in Belgium :/ How does it play? Is it similar to a Les Paul, or rather an SG, or a Fender?

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
Its thinner than a LP, closer to an SG, but in your hands, the neck feels like a LP, its got a D profile neck. It plays awesome, you have 9 different pickup combinations when you include the coil tap on the bridge and neck pickup

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
I'd like to get one. It's hard to go wrong with a minihumbucker in the neck position -- that's one of my favorite tones -- and the rest of the versatile layout is also a plus, to me.

If I were looking for a new solidbody--I would consider one.
Enjoy!

Nice. I have thought about grabing one of those for a while too. Price is right. But something else always ends up taking priority.

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
What's the neck like on these compared to the LPs?

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
I had the gibson version back in 96. The black sp3. same pickup configuration as the epi. It was a great guitar. Wish I still had it

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
I'm debating buying one but have 27 guitars already, I played one and it was incredible especially for the 399.00 price, top is gorgious, neck is slim and flat and with a fenderish scale and a really resonant body, the only bummer is the angled bridge pickup, The old version had the OBL pickup which is just an incredible pickup, but not many choices to upgrade the bridge pickup unless you had it custom wound......I think duncan makes a JB although the stock one sounded pretty good to me. Overall its one of the best values in guitars I have seen yet, very well made.

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
SD makes the JB and the 59 for this guitar. I have a set of 59s in my Les Paul and they sound awesome. Haven't tested the JB myself, but should be a great pickup too if you're into the heavier genres.

Re: So... Nighthawk Anybody? Pic heavy.
Makes no sense to me to spend 200Euro for pups into a 300Euro guitar...
the stock pups are not that bad.....
