NGD for my Friend. Help with Model/Color!

Hi, I have a friend from school who got this Korean Made in 1994 Epi Les Paul. We are having a hard time determining what Les Paul Model this is. It feels to me like a standard, but I've never seen a finish like this. It is yellow and it has these shades of yellow blotches mixed within with the grain. At first from a distance I thought it was a quilt top, but I really aren't sure.
Here is a picture. BTW I tried it, it plays amazing. Serial Number is "S9401892." It checked out being real made at the Samick Plant, Korea in 1994.

Yes we are aware of the bent tuner keys/pegs. But the guitar holds tune just fine.

Could be Classic either quilt top or birds eye, it's hard to tell from the photo. According to epiphonewiki the Classics were first made in '95 however.

Check on the head if it says the model. On standards it might say les Paul standard or just standard.

It says Gibson on the truss rod cover, I'm guessing it's aftermarket.

To the others, I'm sorry about the pic quality but it was on the fly so I used my Ipod Touch. I have an expensive Nikon D80 but it was in the other room and obviously my friend left earlier.

Re: NGD for my Friend. Help with Model/Color!

Well looks like I found it.
It's a Les Paul Classic Birdseye. In Trans Amber with a Maple cap that has blotches or what was considered "Birdseye."

If you used guitardater, please be aware that it is simply a program that decodes the information you put into it. It does not authenticate a guitar - it will only tell you if the serial conforms to correct format. (And also hasn't been updated since 2008 and therefore will not be able to decode all-number serials.)

The TRC is not aftermarket - earlier models had a 'Gibson' TRC.

Re: NGD for my Friend. Help with Model/Color!

That's a birdseye in trans amber indeed. I got exactly the same model but i changed the plastics and pickups. Mine plays and sounds wonderful! 1994 model.
