NGD!! Brought back to life..

I purchased this 2011 '56 Gold Top RI off fellow forum member shooterkc just recently ( FS 2011 Epiphone Les Paul 56RI Black w/Epiphone Case New but broken head) .
I bought it with a broken neck, took it to the luthier I use, had it brought back to life, and all I can say is WOW!
This guitar is amazing! So much so I'm worried my Honeyburst may not see much playing for a little bit.
Regardless, here are some pics. (Better ones to come once my comp is fixed)

*edit* I opted to have the neck repaired but not refinished, as I'm on a tight budget these days!

There was a chunk of wood missing, so that's why its rough there.
I'm happy with it, so no need for you to point that out on a NGD.

It was an innocent question...no need to be a tool. It's not like you posted high resolution pics that make it easy to see the missing piece, bub. Ya know some people choose to save a penny on a busted neck/headstock repair by not paying for the area to be refinished. Quit being so damn sensitive.

Reminds me of Neil Young's Old Black...goldtop that got painted black...granted his was a 53, not sure if there's a difference between 56 and 53.

You know, that's a good question! I'm not sure myself.
I am sure that I'm digging what these P-90's can do though!

It took some research before I bought this guitar, as I was a bit confused as well. "An ebony Gold Top???" is what I was thinking. Once I found out they did a run of them, there was no looking back!!
I enjoy the irony of an ebony GT, as well as the tone!

You are right, always looking for that special LP.
A 7 string? Awesome!! I just did a Digital Storytelling project for one of my courses and I read about the 7 string in my research. Real cool!
Didn't you just acquire a few LP's off a guy whose brothr passed on?

Here's a better pic as well!

Happy NGD! If you love it, you love it and it doesn't matter. It is pretty gorgeous. I am curious about the P-90's...

Thanks man!
The P-90's are pretty righteous in my opinion, as the tone is somewhere between single coil and humbucker. They sound really good when my Vox is just beaking up.
Basically, they rock!

Re: NGD!! Brought back to life..

To save money, you bought a guitar with a broken neck and then paid for a headstock repair?

Thanks man. The thing is as good as new.
All said and done with the purchase and repair I still paid a couple hundred less than what I've seen them for online.

I just wonder where Hack is with his ladies....
