NGD - Epiphone Les Paul Std. plain top - honeyburst
Bought yesterday
![]() As I said, this should be the last guitar.... HLGD Gibson LP Classic Custom AN ...sometimes something happens ![]() I was in "my local store" to bring in my Gibson Les Paul Custom Classic, cause it goes back to Gibson Europe (Netherlands). The fretedges an nibs are sanded too much, not in the correct angle, so the high E-String often slip away from the fretboard ![]() I noticed that in the store while testing 2 weeks ago, but later at home, I realized this fault really.... not a good thing. I could be, that thay are changing the guitar, because to fix it, it needs new frets, that probably under lost of the nibs. Maybe itīs OK, when the first 10 frets or so will changed... but I donīt know that at the time - we will talk about and find a solution. OK, Iīm in the store, gave them my Gibson.... and always been in the store, thereīs time to test something. Some things you should better not do... so the chance is high not going alone at home. Tried a Gibson melody maker in white (really good), a SG Worn in red (have one in WB, also this red one was very good), a Epi SG400 ldt. (Korina model, and a cream one- both with bad setup, but really OK), a Epi SG Proph. in red with flame top, ebony fretboard and Gibson dirty finger Pups = bargain for only 399€ - very nice guitar whith superb sound, much of specs... but for me too much bling bling, and very unbalanced, more than other SGs. Nothing new, typically SG.... At last I asked the salesman for the guitar above in the title, he went into the storeroom and brought the NGD-Guitar .I donīt wanna buy something, but as I saw this axe... - I felt in love. Boxed, never touched, stayed in the storeroom for about 2 years now... Serial number begins with 1011*******, my second Epi with exact these building year and month - should be a good year??? ![]() Tried it, with and without amp, checked it.... nearly 100% perfect with superb build quality, very dark rw fretboard, nice colour, and good looking wood - all around a real beauty - good sounding and best playability out of the box. Tried a lot Epi LPs in the past out of the box, maybe this one was (is) one of the best. And...... that for only 333€ Yeah ![]() Ok....HNGD ![]() The original amber knobs are laying in the store now, we changed them into gold ones and at home I completed it with position markers - so called thumbcutters ![]() I forgot an amber toggle knob, this will come later. The guitar now looks fine and plays/sings wonderful and bring me the same fun and joy as my high-class Gibson guitars. Maybe the Pups will changed into cream ones without chrome cap, possibly DiMarzios? I like the sound, but I also have a plustop burst HB with the stock PUs, so one could be pimped up. I find it really surprising, that there are so good Epi LP Std.īs out there - you only had to find one - and that should not be hard to do...I think that the majority is very good and in that group are hidden pearls ![]() So I am really happy now, lucky to invite you to take a look at it.... better pics will follow... and here we go with morning light pictures. Love Greetings - remains calm and MAD![]() ![]()

Absolutely beautiful guitars. The superb quality pics really bring out that beauty. You can't ask for a better looking pair than that. Many congrats and HNGD.

..I have several cameras, and tons of lenses.... but nothing special or super expensiv in my opinion. Thatīs another passion ![]() Used camera was my older Pentax K200D with Standardkitzoom, but that doesnīt matter... Itīs the motive and the moment - and a bit postprocessing. Not expensive, like these Epis, but real good ![]() All comes out of the fingers..... ![]() Cool, you like the pics? Itīs a lovely guitar..... and Iīm lucky if you enjoy it. ...good friends ![]() ...I will thank you all, so much...

Re: NGD - Epiphone Les Paul Std. plain top - honeyburst
thx pani... photography is my (other) passion for almost 35 years now.
OK, one more rec try, short demo, simple sample... I really like the stock PUs, there aresome mids and highs missing, but you can take them from the eq. Nothing special easily recorded on my old Zoom PS02, 3 tracks with the plaintop. I think she sounds (melody line) sometimes like a violin.... ![]() http://mdalu.bplaced.net/MP3/MAD_Epi-002.mp3 |

Upgraded
![]() You see the difference? For sure..... Amber toggle knob and new Gibson Pickups. Only a pair of mallory caps are missing. Sounds really superb now - in my eyes a wonderful guitar now - for less. yeah ![]() Last edited by M A D; 03-05-2012 at 08:47 AM. |

Hack, I missed you and your spl. HNGD greeting
![]() love it... My secret is: - no flashlight - often a tripod - daylight - ISO100 - a good eye - nice motive - any SLR or a good cam like an Olympus Pen - post processing (Photoshop, or mostly Photo Scape - wonderful freeware prog) ...and experiance paired with passion. Glad to hear, that the pics are liked - thx at all for watching and feedback!!

![]() ...the trussrod cover is super coool looks damn sexy Nice tulip tuners!!! ...but I let the Grovers work, cause they do it well - not so sexy, but fine. Guitarfetish I know, ordered a mini humbucker as a substitute for a P90 - good. But at the moment I installed the most hated pickups from Gibson probably ![]() - but I like it ![]() When was yours built? |
