I'm buying a Epi standard LP soon and I was wondering if anyone has some pics of their Epi LP in some kind of burst(Cherry Sunburst, honeyburst etc) that they don't have the pickguard on? And I've seen Knarbens, 'bout the prettiest Epi LP i've ever seen. Thanks guys!

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
Wow those are nice....especially with pups without covers, love that look. i think i'm going to switch the pups once i get unbroke after buying the guitar, lol. probably go from Alnico classic magnets to Alnico IIs, heard they are good. I'll think of it more once i actually buy the guitar, lol.

the HCS has seymour duncan '59's in it. and the blackburst is getting a EMG 60/81 pair as soon as i get some money. heres one with less flash. the flash always makes this guitar look like crap. as you can see it used to have a pickgaurd.

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
Yeah, most people make a big fuss about having the screw being noticeable, but I dont think it really matters unless ur playing in front of thousands of people. But that ax is gorgeous. What kind of magnets do SD 59s have in them?

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
![]() Here's my '04 Epi Standard in Honeyburst without the PG. I liked it that way, but recently felt that it was time for a change. So I put the creme pickguard back on and think it looks killer with it on as well. I put it back on mainly for playing purposes, to force myself to anchor my picking hand and it seems to have helped. I'm currently of the belief that aesthetically, a PG makes an LP look "complete". <---I reserve the right to alter this opinion without notice.

Seymour Duncan SH-1n '59 model humbucker pickup. Black. Neck position. This pickup is a faithful replica of humbucker inventor Seth Lover's "Patent Applied For" model. True to 1959 specs with the same alnico magnets, plain enamel winding, nickel plated studs, wooden spacer, black paper tape, and balanced coil windings. The tone is smooth and warm with plenty of sustain and just the right amount of bass. Single conductor braided cable. and on more of the black one to keep it on topic ![]()

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
I recently restrung, put some new knobs on, and took the PG off. I liked the look. Brings the burst out.
Then I asked my wife which she preferred. She liked the PG on..................... The PG is back on........... Yes I know..........

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
honestly, all i know is that it is a limited edition, from the seal embossed on the back of the headstock, i wish i knew the full details, the guy i bought it from didn't even mention it was lim ed, i saw that when i got home....
and when i ran the serial, it came back with a 2001 date...

Re: Epiphone Bursts without pickguards
I didn't know you wuz talkin' to me! It's a 2001 MIJ. I removed the p/g just to clean the guitar, & I left it off. It made the curves of the body stand out.
