1960 Tribute Plus body

Hi!

So I was wondering what amount of body pieces my tribute got. Can't seem to find anything about it...

Anyone?

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

I'm not sure of your question. Are you asking how many pieces of wood is it constructed from?

Max, even the Gibson LP's are made from multiple pieces of wood. That seems pretty much a standard construction technique. The Epi LP Tribute Plus is a quality instrument.

Yeah, it sure is, she sounds nice and I still love her after six months!

Just got a little surprised by that pic.

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

My 1960 Tribute plain top has a three piece body (you can see it on the edges, which are not covered by the veneer). Not sure how many pieces does the maple cap have.

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

Looking at the edges I would say I also got three pieces.

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

That really was informative, thanks! So, 3 piece body is the normal way. Still, those guitars in the pic before got something like 6 or 7 pieces of wood...

There are Fenders made there though.
What do they do to Squier guitars to make them worse than made in Mexico Fenders?

They aren't worse - they are just cheaper

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

Okay, they're cheaper, but is it just because they're made in Asia? So a Squier would be as good as a Mexican Fender but cheaper?

Well....unless I come across an Elitist at a great price again or maybe one of the new Ace Epis that are on their way. So many guitars, so little time.
I have a Gibson LP (probably a historic), a Fender Tele and eventually a Gretsch or another hollow body guitar on my wish list.

So little time, you mean so much money I need to save up...

Re: 1960 Tribute Plus body

-I don't know if it's changed, but the MIM Fender Standard bodies and necks were actually made in California then sent to Mexico to be finished and assembled. Then they were sent back to the California shop where they were setup and ready to be sold.

Matt

When you decide to get yourself a Tele, be sure and play both. Forget about the price so that you don't go in with the idea that less expensive = not as good. I think you may be pleasantly surprised at how good a Squier Fender Tele sounds. Play them through some different amps too. That's equally important IMO.

Absolutely. My opinion is, if I personally can't feel or hear the difference while playing, there's no point in buying something more expensive. Through different amps, right, I always love to play on the amps I can't afford, but I'm not planning on buying a new amp so a guitar which sounds good through my blues junior is better ^^

I have an Ibanez RG320 and when I tried the tribute I was blown away by how much better it sounded. I bought one soon after.
