How much different is it than the OG Ace sig that Epi came out with? I can see the tuners and what not, but looks pretty close to the same. Maybe the ebony board too?

$799 doesn't seem unreasonable when you look at everything you're getting. Their run of the mill customs are $699 without a case. Kudos Epiphone.

3 piece solid maple top. 3 piece neck with volute, ebony board.

Ordered from them for years. They are an Authorized Gibson/Epiphone dealer...

I've ordered from Zzounds and been very happy with their service, but I agree with markerdown that you have to watch it with Pre-orders.

They first listed the Wilshire Phant-o-Matic as coming August 24, then it went to "coming soon" then it went to October 17 in September, then back to "coming soon" on October 17, then December 22 on October 24, now they list February 27.

I had to finally order one from Musician's Friend when they got them in stock on October 31.

True pre-order dates can move out or up. He was comparing them to "ebay fakes" though, big difference..

If y'all remember the 59 epi les paul pre-order goat-rope a few years back. I had an early preorder date with zzounds. My pre-order got pushed back several times, then I got a ship notification, then an order canx.

Seems they pre-sold more than they were allocated. I just happen to be one of the guys that got strung out for several months and screwed. Thats why I won't pre-order with them.

Other than that I got no problems with em'.

As far as the ebay fakes, hell, if it's MIC it's already available on line from the chinese dealers

Gotcha, sucks that happened to ya. If that were me, I would have got a manager on the phone and asked for 25-30% off my next order.... No company should ever sell more than they have allocated..

I got my first one from Musicians Friend. So Ill probably go that route again. Ive got alot of stuff from them over the years and their customer service is top notch.
