Well New York City to Toronto is a 9 hour drive. Not exactly right across the border. And, I emailed the guy asking if he would ship but he never responded.

I get that more often than not. There is a local guy that keeps posting a guitar that I want on Craigslist. (for 2 months now) His ad doesn't include a phone number and he and never responds to emails. Why do people do shite like this?

I wonder if it's going to have Ace/Tommy on the headstock?? Where did you see this news? I can't find it on Epiphones site. Do you have a link. I would buy it just for the silver sparkle.

I have been lurking on this forum for a while reading all of the posts and looking for any info on this guitar. Mine has been on order with sweetwater since the first part of February.
I have had three conversations with my salesperson about lead times and today has been the official ship date every time. Today he called to let me know it will be August 20.
He has no idea why the delay, or lack of info...
We had a good laugh and I confirmed that I would wait it out.
I can certainly wait, but I am dying to know the "back story" on this guitar.
I have worked in the wholesale industry and I have bought containers of product from china. It takes about 30 days minimum to ship from port to port. I ALWAYS knew if something was going to miss a projected date well in advance of that date.
We waited three months to find out it is still three months out.
It makes you wonder if there is some kind of juicy secret, huh?

Thayer signature guitar yet he calls it Spaceman. Just like him it's an Ace tribute. May as well just call it that. The Ace Frehley tribute LP. Outside of a handful of fanatics drinking the kiss kool aid I can't imagine them selling many. Sure won't have any resale value. Carry on.

I think a silver sparkle with black sides and back would look cool. Course if it had the spaceman on the headstock it would ruin it and be sacrilege. The fact that Tommy Thayer is playing it isn't the guitars fault. LOL

funny, I contemplated it, and I placed an additional order at Musicians Friend to my existing American Musical order...not sure what to expect, but it wasnt long ago I was SOL on any orders after my original 1/31/12 order was cancelled, so doubling up felt like the right thing to do. So now I should at very least have the opportunity to cancel a second guitar...but after so much waiting, I just might get both...who knows. Get both and sell one for a profit so I can buy the Thayer Sparkle...(although that one might be available before the Budokan even ships). I guess time will tell.

I saw Ace open up for Y&T in Chicago at the Aragon Ballroom (Faster Pussycat opened up for Ace) at the now famous live plus 1 show, I believe it was Aug 4th. Was awesome. (meant to post this to "allbusinessjoes" for the FP reference, but it didnt work)

I saw that show too, back in '87 for first Frehley's Comet album, right?

I thought it was 86, but yeah...it was like a dream come true to see Ace at that point. That was my first time seeing Ace live, wasnt old enough to see him with Kiss and to see him onstage was pure magic. I have been lucky enough to have seen Ace a few other times since, Once for the trouble walkin tour in Chicago, and again on the just for fun tour in Davie Florida back in 94, and of course I saw the reunion show a few times, which if you had never seen the original line up was like being able to go back in time...probably the best concert I have ever seen.

May have been in '86. I was too young too see Ace before that too, so yeah I felt the same way as you did. I have been lucky enough to see him after that for several shows since '86. '88 with Iron Maiden, '90/91 Trouble Walkin, '92 just for fun tour, '94 kick ass tour, reunion X5 (including Detroit Tiger Stadium), psycho circus, farewell X3, Rocket Ride Tour, Anomaly X3.
