Please HELP! - Fake or Real Les Paul Standard
Hey Guys,
I wanted to know if you guys think that this epiphone les paul standard (from the pics) is real or fake. The guy on the local buy and sell site says that he bought it secondhand and it is honeyburst but it seems darker than that to me (but what do i know). Just follow this link. Epiphone les paul standard in mint shape - Halifax Musical Instruments For Sale - Kijiji Halifax ![]() Thanks a lot for the help. |

Just does, I dunno why.
Everything else seems to check out... and if its an older model, then I'm even more sure it checks out. See if he can tell you what year it was made. |

Looks real to me. Why would you consider paying $400 for a used Epi? I had a guy at G/C offer to sell me a new Epi standard for around that. Oh, by the way, welcome. (There's an introduction section)

Re: Please HELP! - Fake or Real Les Paul Standard
everything checks out, and as long as the serial doesn't come back as an 07 or 08 I think you'll be okay. If you could get a pic of the back of the headstock (with the last three digits blurred out is fine) with the serial showing we can give you a definitive (mostly) answer.
all the normal flaws and give aways of the fakes aren't there, and it looks like a slightly older model. |

Looks pretty good from those pictures. Knobs look straight to me, logo is in the right spot..

Re: Please HELP! - Fake or Real Les Paul Standard
does it come with a hard shell case for te $400? if so that not a bad price. tht does look like a older one, because of the tuners, it has the white covers on the back, its prob somewhere between 1999-2001?

As far as mexi-strats and fat strats, etc. Strats are great guitars, but they are different animals than Les Pauls. This goes for any guitar, try and find one you can play before you buy one. Even if its not the one you buy, you will get a sense of whether or not you will like it. But every guitar is different. The Goldtop Epi I used to have beat out two Gibson LPs, an Epi Explorer, and a Gibson Faded SG (not to mention numerous PRS, Fenders, and other epi lps) because it was the one that spoke to me. It felt like it was playing itself. |
