Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
I am more of a purist I like it with, but if you like it without, it's your guitar.
It doesn't affect the sound so who cares what we think.

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
A third choice should have been offered: Who cares?
This subject has been covered many, probably dozens of times. ![]() It just doesn't matter!

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
If the top were a solid color and not a burst, I'd say off. But, since it's a burst, leave it on.
IMO, YMMV, yadda yadda yadda. |

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
Completely agree, either one way or another. Personally, i like it on better unless its one color

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
what do you like the best? Take a picture with it on, and off with the guitar sitting in the exact same position. then tape both pictures to your bathroom mirror so you see both of them every day... also, it wouldn't hurt to tape another set of them to your refrigerator door as well... then, leave them there for exactly 2 years... keep a journal and write down which one you thinks looks the best each day. after the two years are up, tally up the results and see which one has the most votes... that will be your obvious choice and you can be confident that your doing the right thing, which ever it may be! .... but, to answer your question in short, if it were me id leave it on. i think they look cool when taken off if the guitars a solid color (black or gold top) .... otherwise i like them on. .... id use the 2 year picture comparison method though if i were you, just to be sure.

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
So what did you end up doing?
You have a pretty decent poll and a lot of opinions. Plus you didnt even state your own opinion... |

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)
I tried doing the same thing because I wanted to mod my standard into a custom, but there was glue and it left a horrible residue that I couldn't get off...
